STM Public Transit Access

STM PUBLIC TRANSIT ACCESS

The Town of Kirkland offers twenty (20) STM public transit complimentary tickets per month (a $35 value) to people aged 65 and over who receive a Guaranteed Income Supplement from the federal government.

 Citizens aged 65 and over can come to city hall to register for this program or to update their file. Opening hours are from 8:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, except for statutory holidays.

Procedure Reminder:

  • Starting October 1, 2019, the Town of Kirkland will reimburse the public transit for a total monthly amount of $35 per person;
  • The ticket reimbursement is offered monthly for a maximum period of four (4) months at a time;
  •  To be reimbursed, residents must come to city hall during opening hours. Reimbursements will be made by cheque or direct deposit.

Residents aged 65 and over who wish to register for this program, update their file, or get reimbursed, must have the following:

  • Photo OPUS card for reduced fare; 
  • Proof of age and residency;
  • Proof of eligibility for the Guaranteed Income Supplement;
  • Cheque specimen;
  • Copy of the ticket purchase receipt for the current reimbursement period.
