Due to emergency work carried out on the water network, a preventative boil-water advisory is currently in effect for the following addresses:
Discepola Street (all civic addresses)
Brien Street (all civic addresses)

Recommendations:
Please note that you must boil your tap water (bringing it to a bubbling boil) for at least 1 minute before drinking it, or use bottled water for:
drinking or preparing beverages;
preparing baby bottles and baby food;
washing and preparing food to be eaten raw (fruits, vegetables, etc.);
preparing food that doesn’t require long cooking time;
making ice cubes;
brushing your teeth or rinsing your mouth;
providing water to pets.
You may use unboiled tap water to:
prepare food and dishes that require long boiling time for cooking;
wash dishes in hot water, making sure to dry them well;
wash clothing;
take a shower or bath (make sure that young children do not swallow water while bathing).
Lifting of the boil-water advisory
Water samples will be collected from various locations and submitted for laboratory analysis. The boil-water advisory will be lifted once we receive the results of these tests, which requires a minimum of 48 hours.
Additonal work to come
Additional work will be required at the end of June to permanently repair the water main. Subsequent communications will be issued regarding this matter.

Temporary Drinking Water Supply System: As part of this project, a temporary drinking water supply system will be set up to serve your residence. The general contractor, Réhabilitation Du O Inc., hired by the City to carry out the work, will provide affected residents with the necessary documentation.

Temporary drinking water supply system: The installation of the temporary water supply system has been completed and was put into operation on April 30 to supply residences in the affected area. The general contractor, Insituform Technologies, retained by the city to carry out this work, has sent documentation to affected residences to this effect.

*ATTENTION* If the temperature drops below zero (0°C), it is important to keep water running from an indoor faucet at all times. This will help prevent exterior pipes from freezing.

Élections Québec has produced the guide Running for Municipal Elections for persons who are considering running for the upcoming municipal elections.
The period during which a person may file their nomination paper at the Office of the Returning Officer, duly completed and accompanied by the appropriate documents, begins on September 19 and ends at 4:30 p.m. on October 3, 2025. Before you go to the Office of the Returning Officer, it is strongly recommended that you make an appointment.
Please note that it is the responsibility of the candidate to verify that they meet the eligibility requirements.
To run as a candidate you must:
Have the right to be registered on the municipal electoral list;
Reside within the municipality’s territory at the time of submitting your nomination paper;
Not be in a situation of ineligibility.
To have the right to be registered on the municipal electoral list, the person must meet all the following criteria on polling day:
Be 18 years old or older;
Have Canadian citizenship;
Not have lost the right to vote due to guardianship;
Not have been found guilty of electoral fraud in the past five years;
Be in one of the following situations:
Be domiciled within the municipality's territory and have been residing in Quebec for at least six months;
Be the owner of a property or the occupant of a business establishment located within the municipality's territory for at least 45 days on the date of the election.
Nomination paper
The nomination paper must be supported by the signature of at least:
25 electors if you are running for the position of councilor;
50 electors if you are running for the position of mayor.
We recommend that you obtain more signatures than the number required by the Act to avoid a challenge to the validity of certain signatures.
You can collect support signatures alone or with the help of another person. Only this person and the one intending to run as a candidate are authorized to collect support signatures.
Persons supporting a nomination must be electors of the municipality, but it is not required that they reside in the district where the candidate is running.
