Lollipop Theatre

The Town of Kirkland is proud to present a variety of shows intended for the young public. Lollipop Theatre performances are usually held from October until March. All shows are presented at the Kirkland Sports Complex (16950 Hymus Blvd.) or at the Municipal Library (17100 Hymus Blvd.)

Once upon a time – so ti do mi fa! – there were two cheerful singers who wanted to tell the tale of Hansel and Gretel in music. Their mischievous pal tried to lend them a helping hand, but he was so greedy and easily distracted that his foot would always end up in his mouth… or was that candy…? Relive the tale savoured by candy lovers everywhere with this fanciful, playful concert.

A sad, sad life threatens everyone! In order to save the world, Miss Égaré has to do 12 jobs by the end of the day. Will she succeed in time? It's a safe bet that she will need the help of her new friends to make it happen. Rhymes, dance and riddles are on the menu!

Today’s a big, big day for percussionists and good friends Marton and Bruno! Marton is looking for a new rhythm for a musical number and Bruno wants to play in a big parade but has no idea what instruments to bring... Racking their brains, the two friends will do whatever they can to drum up some ideas... right before our eyes and ears! They will explore all sorts of percussion – the cajón, guiro, claves, surdo, bodhran, djembe – and all sorts of countries and regions around the world.
