Precautionary boil water advisory in effect for Timberlea District residentsNotice to All Timberlea District ResidentsMajor Water Main Break - September 8 Following the major water main break that occurred yesterday, a precautionary boil water advisory remains in effect for all residents of the Timberlea district until further notice. Water samples were collected from various locations throughout the distribution system and submitted for laboratory testing this morning. The advisory will not be lifted until test results confirm that the water is safe for consumption. This process requires a minimum of 48 hours. Residents will be notified when the advisory is lifted through the municipal alert system and on the Town’s website. In the meantime, it is essential to continue boiling tap water for at least one minute before consuming it or using it for food preparation. Residents are also encouraged to check the Alerts section of the Town’s website regularly for the latest updates. Discoloured Water and Low Water PressureFollowing the restoration of water service, residents in the Timberlea area may continue to experience temporary low water pressure and cloudy or discoloured water for the next 24 to 36 hours. If your water is discoloured, run the cold water tap in your bathtub for approximately 15 minutes, or until the water runs clear. Closure of Anse-à-l’Orme StreetThe intersection of Anse-à-l’Orme Street and chemin Sainte-Marie remains closed to traffic to allow repair work to continue. The closure is expected to remain in place until Friday, September 11, with reopening anticipated for the weekend. Motorists are asked to follow the posted detour. Municipal patrol
On duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the Municipal patrol’s responsibilities include surveying the Town’s territory and preserving the peace in public areas (parks, public roadways, municipal buildings, etc.), for the safety and quality of life of the citizens.
To do so, the patrollers conduct preventive patrols on the entire Kirkland territory and ensure the application of municipal by-laws concerning:
- Parking and obstruction of public roadways
- Control of damage to public property, (graffiti, etc.)
- Surveillance of parks and public buildings
- Noise, disturbances, nuisances
