"Drive-through" pick-up service formula

Environment Day is a Kirkland Environment Committee initiative to raise resident awareness on good environmental practices. 

To ensure compliance with government guidelines regarding COVID-19, the following measures will have to be followed on Environment Day:

  • Residents will have to remain in their car at all times;
  • Residents will have to wear a mask at all times;
  • A minimum distance of 2 meters will have to kept at all times between participants;
  • Plants and bags will be deposited by a municipal employee directly into the trunk of vehicle;
  • Access to site is reserved to Kirkland residents only.


Don’t miss the opportunity to get :

  • 5 paper bags for green waste (5 per household)
  • a free plant of organic cherry tomatoes or Nasturtium cress*
  • a reusable bag for fruits or vegetables*

* One bag and one plant of tomatoes or cress per household. Available while supplies last. Plants and bags will be deposited by municipal employee directly into car trunk.



In order to comply with government guidelines regarding COVID-19, no rain water barrels or backyard composters will be sold on Environment Day.
