October 21, 2026 - Drinking water supply interruption AND boil water advisory for certain addresses on Sainte-Marie, Hymus, Frank-Toope and Trans-Canada HighwayNotice to affected residences:
Due to ongoing work related to the Livéo development project, a temporary interruption of the drinking water supply is scheduled for WEDNESDAY, October 21, between 9 am and 3 pm, for the above-mentioned addresses. In preparation for this work, we recommend to stock up on potable water to meet consumption needs during this period.
Once water supply is restored, a preventative boil-water advisory will be in effect until further notice. Preventative Boil-Water Advisory

Closure of Chemin Sainte-Marie from October 13 to 23Chemin Sainte-Marie between Boulevard Saint-Charles and the first entrance to the Walmart shopping centre will be completely closed to traffic from Tuesday, October 13 to Friday, October 23, inclusive.
Closure of Chemin Sainte-Marie from October 13 to 23As part of work being carried out by contractor Sotramont, the section of Chemin Sainte-Marie between Boulevard Saint-Charles and the first entrance to the Walmart shopping centre will be completely closed to traffic from Tuesday, October 13 to Friday, October 23, inclusive. Despite the closure, access to the shopping centre where Walmart is located, as well as to the underground parking garages of the residential buildings on Chemin Sainte-Marie, will remain available via East Hymus Boulevard. A detour route will be clearly marked to guide motorists. We thank residents and businesses in the area for their understanding and cooperation throughout the duration of the work.

Applicable guidelines
- Please place items to be picked up at the curbside, on your property, after 6 p.m. the evening before collection day
- Maximum quantity: 2 cubic metres / household / pick-up
- Items must not exceed 2 m (6.5 ft) in length
- Each item must weigh less than 23 kg (50 lb)
- No phone or online request required
- No garbage bags are accepted
If your bulk items or construction debris were not collected on the scheduled collection day, you can quickly notify the Town through the Online Request System.
When all conditions are met (items set out on time, placed properly, and containing only accepted materials), the Town will instruct the contractor to carry out a corrective collection.
Once your request is received, you will receive an email confirmation specifying the scheduled date for the corrective collection and, if necessary, the adjustments to be made regarding any non-compliant items.
RECOVERABLE BULKY WASTE
Collections on request only
Recoverable bulky items consist of bulky items that are not accepted in sectoral household collections and can only be disposed of on request.
These are essentially two specific types of bulky items:
1) Household appliances of all sizes:
- Air conditioners
- Freezers
- Stoves
- Dehumidifiers
- Dishwashers
- Washing machines
- Dryers
- Refrigerators
- Water coolers
2) Large format televisions
- Televisions with 55-inch screens or larger
- Built-in televisions
Did you know?
Household refrigerating appliances contain halocarbons that deplete the ozone layer and have a significant impact on climate changes when released into the atmosphere.
That is why appliances collected as recoverable bulky items are sent to a specialized recycler who ensures that the halocarbons are disposed of in accordance with provincial regulations.
What’s more, nearly 95% of the remaining components are recycled!
Rules to follow
Refrigerating appliances must be placed at the curb, on your property (not in the street), on the scheduled pick-up day. Doors and other closing devices must be removed in order to prevent a child from becoming trapped inside.
Other options
Many retail stores now offer to take back old appliances when you buy new ones. Some will even pick up old refrigerators from your home.
