BiblioQUALITÉ recognition program

October 31st 2023
BiblioQUALITÉ recognition program

The Town of Kirkland obtains an overall result of 100% for the year 2022 and is awarded a level 5 rating of excellence!

Kirkland, October 27, 2023 - The BiblioQUALITÉ program aims to recognize, on an objective and sustainable basis, the investment efforts made in public libraries by each member municipality of the ABPQ - Association des Bibliothèques Publiques du Québec (Quebec Public Library Association), to improve the living environment of their community, particularly that of the public library.

To evaluate each municipality, BiblioQUALITÉ relies on a series of quantifiable indicators that are fundamental to the proper functioning of a library service, namely:

  1. Acquisition expenditure for collection development
  2. Opening hours
  3. Surface area of facilities
  4. Seating capacity
  5. Qualified human resources

For each indicator, a score is assigned to determine the level reached by the library. There are five levels, each associated with a ribbon - ribbon 5 signifying excellence.

The Town of Kirkland obtained an overall score of 100% for the year 2022, earning several ribbons of excellence for the quality of its library services.

Our congratulations and sincere thanks to the Kirkland Library team for this impressive result.  YOU MAKE THE ENTIRE KIRKLAND COMMUNITY SO VERY PROUD!
