ln anticipation of this interruption, we recommend that affected residents stock up on water to meet their consumption needs during the interruption period, and to flush their toilets. Preventative boil-water advisoryAs soon as the drinking water supply is restored to your household, a preventative boil-water advisory will be in effect until further notice (minimum of 48 hours). You will need to bail your tap water for at least one minute before drinking it, for food preparation and to brush your teeth. Lifting of the preventative advisoryFollowing this work, water samples will be taken at various locations and submitted to laboratory analysis. The Town of Kirkland is looking at setting up a registry to identify the vulnerable persons living on its territory. This initiative will allow the city to intervene quickly with these citizens during emergency situations (i.e. heat waves, prolonged power outages, snow or ice storms, etc.).
Sign up for the Vulnerable Person Registry by filling out the online registration form. An employee will contact you following your registration.
