Treat Accessibly This Halloween

TREAT ACCESSIBLY THIS HALLOWEEN!

The Town of Kirkland is proud to join in the “ACCESSIBLE TRICK-OR-TREATING” movement and invites all Kirkland households to make their property fully accessible for all the little monsters who will come knocking for candies at Halloween. This year, let’s take action to allow little Kirklanders with disabilities or limited mobility to enjoy an inclusive and fully accessible Halloween!

To take part in the movement:

BEFORE OCTOBER 31

  • Visit www.treataccessibly.com where you will find a host of practical tips to make this Halloween a successful Accessible Trick-or-Treating experience for all
  • “Accessible Trick-or-Treating” lawn signs will be available to Kirkland residents at the Sports Complex and at the Library for display on their property.

ON OCTOBER 31

  • Clear your driveway and pathways to provide unobstructed access.
  • Move cars out of the driveway to allow better accessibility for trick-or-treaters.
  • Create an obstacle free trick-or-treating station for candy distribution (at the entrance of your garage, at the curbside or out of your car trunk).
  • Make sure the path to your trick-or-treating area is well lit.

Because Halloween trick-or-treating is for ALL children to enjoy…
