Flushing of the water supply network

Flushing of the water supply network

From April to end of June, the Town carries out the annual flushing of its water supply network. This maintenance operation is necessary in order to remove iron, lime, and rust particles from the water mains and ensure the quality of the drinking water.

Flushing operations

Flushing operations are carried out by sector, from Monday to Friday, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The Town uses its CodeRED automated call system to notify residents of the affected sectors. Citizens can also track the progress of the work by consulting the following link.

Impacts to be expected

Please note that the water remains safe to drink during this process, however flushing operations may lead to:

  • a slight drop in water pressure;
  • cloudy or discoloured water. Should this be the case, simply let the cold water run in the bathtub for approximately 15 minutes, or until it runs clear.

Precautionary measures

During this process, we would ask you to limit your use of potable water to day-to-day tasks, and to avoid any activity requiring the continuous use of running water, such as:

  • doing the laundry;
  • watering the garden;
  • filling a pool or a spa.
