In preparation for the interruption, residents are advised to store an adequate supply of water for drinking and household needs during the outage. Once water service has been restored, a precautionary boil water advisory will be in effect for at least 48 hours and until further notice.

Preventative Boil-Water Advisory

RECOMMENDATIONS:

Please note that you must boil your tap water (bringing it to a bubbling boil) for at least 1 minute before drinking it, or use bottled water for:

• drinking or preparing beverages;
• preparing baby bottles and baby food;
• washing and preparing food to be eaten raw (fruits, vegetables, etc.);
• preparing food that doesn’t require long cooking time;
• making ice cubes;
• brushing your teeth or rinsing your mouth;
• providing water to pets.
  
  

YOU MAY USE UNBOILED TAP WATER TO :

• prepare food and dishes that require long boiling time for cooking;
• wash dishes in hot water, making sure to dry them well;
• wash clothing;
• take a shower or bath (make sure that young children do not swallow water while bathing).

Lifting of the boil-water advisory

Water samples will be collected from various locations and submitted for laboratory analysis. The boil-water advisory will be lifted once we receive the results of these tests, which requires a minimum of 48 hours.

Please note that water system pressure testing will be conducted throughout the Timberlea sector from July 13 to July 17, 2026, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

These tests are intended to pinpoint the exact source of potential irregularities observed in the water distribution system during the flushing operations carried out in spring 2026.

Because valve operations will take place at various locations and at different times throughout the week, it is not possible to identify in advance which streets may be affected or when.

As a precaution, all residents within the Timberlea sector are therefore asked to follow these recommendations each day between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.:

• Limit water use to normal household needs;
• Avoid activities requiring significant or continuous water consumption, including laundry, outdoor watering, and filling swimming pools or spas.

These activities may be carried out after 3:00 p.m. and before 8:00 a.m. the following morning.

Temporary pressure fluctuations and discoloured water may occur during the testing period. If this happens, run cold water from a tap for a few minutes, or until the water becomes clear.

If testing needs to continue beyond July 17, operations will resume on Monday, July 20. Any extension will be announced in the Alerts section of the Town’s website.

Preventive boil-water advisory still in effect

As part of the rehabilitation work on Aesop, Allard, Derome, Pasquini and du Souvenir streets, several water main valves had to be replaced. Unforeseen circumstances required the area affected by water service interruptions to be expanded, as well as several successive interventions on the water supply network.

As a preventive measure, a boil-water advisory remains in effect for the following addresses:

• Aesop Street: 2 to 38 and 40 to 46
• Allard Street: 1 to 12
• Derome Street: 1 to 12
• Edmond Street: 3011 to 3025
• Pasquini Street: 1 to 33
• Place Massabni : 4 to 32
• Place Renaud: 4 to 28
• Place du Souvenir: 1 to 8

The water service interruptions related to these interventions took place on the following dates:

• June 29
• June 30
• July 1
• July 2
• July 6
• July 9
• July 10
• July 13

The preventive boil-water advisory remains in effect until further notice. Affected residents will be informed as soon as the situation has been resolved and the advisory can be lifted.

Dates: Starting June 29

Location: Saint-Charles Boulevard South, at the intersection of Sainte-Marie Road East

Nature of the work: Work will be carried out to reconfigure the right-turn lane providing access to Saint-Charles Boulevard South from Sainte-Marie Road East. This work is being carried out as part of Sotramont’s ongoing residential development project.

Traffic disruptions to be expected: The existing merge lane onto Saint-Charles Boulevard South will be completely closed. Road users must follow the new signage installed in the area.

Allard and Pasquini Streets - Curb Construction Work

The Town will be carrying out curb construction work on Allard and Pasquini Streets on July 16, 2026, starting at 7:00 a.m.

Residents whose properties are located within the work zone will not have access to their driveways for approximately 24 hours. They are therefore asked to remove their vehicles from their driveways and the street before 6:00 a.m. on July 16.

Derome Street and Place du Souvenir – Preparatory Work ahead of Curb Construction

The City will carry out preparatory work ahead of curb construction on Derome Street and Place du Souvenir on July 16, 2026, starting at 7:00 am.

Residents whose properties are located within the work zone will not have access to their driveways for approximately 48 hours. They are therefore asked to remove their vehicles from their driveways and the street before 6:00 a.m. on July 16.

Important

To ensure optimum results, it is very important that there be no through traffic within the construction zone throughout this period of time. Residents parking on adjacent streets are asked to follow the temporary parking signage in place.

Please note that in the event of rain or if the work cannot be completed as scheduled, it will be postponed to the next business day.
