Kirkland Supports Seniors at Home Through a Partnership with Répit-Ressource

Committed to helping seniors remain in their homes and maintain a high quality of life, the City of Kirkland is proud to announce a partnership with Répit-Ressource that will provide eligible residents with easier and more affordable access to home support services.

Growing older at home, within one’s community and surrounded by familiar surroundings, is the wish of many seniors. Through this initiative, eligible residents can benefit from a range of essential services, including housekeeping, meal preparation, grocery assistance, personal support, and in-home respite care.

In addition to the financial assistance already available through the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ) and L’Appui for caregivers, the City of Kirkland will cover the cost of the first four hours of home support services each month for eligible residents.

This partnership addresses three important objectives: increasing awareness of the home care and support services available within the community, helping residents learn about financial assistance programs that make these services more accessible, and supporting the creation of meaningful jobs dedicated to assisting seniors and individuals experiencing a loss of autonomy.

Through this initiative, the City reaffirms its commitment to fostering an inclusive, caring, and supportive community that responds to the evolving needs of its senior population.

Eligibility
This program is available to Kirkland residents aged 65 and over who are experiencing a loss of autonomy and whose annual income falls below the established thresholds:

  • $31,648 for a person living alone;
  • $40,224 for two people living at the same address.
