Once service has been restored, a precautionary boil water advisory will be in effect for a minimum of 48 hours and until further notice. Precautionary Boil-Water Advisory RECOMMENDATIONS: Please note that you must boil your tap water (bringing it to a bubbling boil) for at least 1 minute before drinking it, or use bottled water for: drinking or preparing beverages; preparing baby bottles and baby food; washing and preparing food to be eaten raw (fruits, vegetables, etc.); preparing food that doesn’t require long cooking time; making ice cubes; brushing your teeth or rinsing your mouth; providing water to pets. YOU MAY USE UNBOILED TAP WATER TO : prepare food and dishes that require long boiling time for cooking; wash dishes in hot water, making sure to dry them well; wash clothing; take a shower or bath (make sure that young children do not swallow water while bathing). Lifting of the boil-water advisory Water samples will be collected from various locations and submitted for laboratory analysis. The boil-water advisory will be lifted once we receive the results of these tests, which requires a minimum of 48 hours. Plant Theft from the Town’s Floral Mosaic: A Call for Vigilance

The Town of Kirkland wishes to inform residents that a significant number of plants were recently stolen from the floral mosaic located near Highway 40.

We find this situation particularly unfortunate. Each year, municipal crews dedicate considerable time, effort, and resources to creating and maintaining the floral mosaics and landscaped areas that enhance the beauty of our community and contribute to residents’ quality of life. These installations also represent a significant investment funded by taxpayers.

Unfortunately, because so many plants were removed, the floral mosaic sustained extensive damage and could no longer be maintained. As a result, we were forced to dismantle it prematurely today.

On a more positive note, our horticulture team is already preparing a new seasonal display, which will be installed in the coming weeks to beautify the area for the fall season.

We are asking for the public’s cooperation in remaining vigilant. If you witness the theft of plants or flowers from municipal flower beds, planters, or other landscaped areas, or if you observe suspicious activity near these installations, please contact the Municipal Patrol at 514-630-1234 or the Police at 514-280-0101.

We also encourage residents to exercise caution regarding any unusual offers of plants or flowers whose origin may appear questionable.
