Town Council Highlights the Opening of the Kirkland REM Station

The Kirkland Town Council was pleased to take part in the official opening of the new Kirkland station on the Anse-à-l’Orme branch of the Réseau express métropolitain (REM).

Long anticipated, this opening marks a major milestone for Kirkland and the entire West Island. With this new station, the Town is taking a significant step forward in enhancing sustainable mobility, regional connectivity, and residents’ quality of life.

The arrival of the REM in the West Island will help facilitate daily travel, improve access to the Greater Montréal area, and provide a modern, efficient, and accessible public transit option.

The opening of the Anse-à-l’Orme branch will also support the harmonious development of living environments and contribute to the vitality of local neighbourhoods, while encouraging more sustainable transportation habits.

The Anse-à-l’Orme branch has officially been in service since May 18, 2026.

Residents are invited to consult the Travel section of the REM website for complete information regarding schedules, fares, connections and stations: Travelling using the REM | REM
